DAV College Visual Identity
A comprehensive visual identity system crafted for college events, campaigns, and brand presence at DAV College, Amritsar.
Creating a Visual Language for an Entire Institution
DAV College, Amritsar — one of the premier colleges in Punjab — needed a cohesive and professional visual identity for its events, academic campaigns, and student communications. The existing design assets were inconsistent, outdated, and lacked the prestige that a college of this standing deserved.
The challenge was to create a visual language that felt modern yet respectful of the institution's heritage, worked across multiple formats — from large-format flex prints to digital social media assets — and could be executed by a student designer operating on a real institutional scale.
This project became a turning point — one where design met accountability, and where the work directly influenced how the college presented itself publicly and officially. The outcome earned the recognition of the Best Graphic Designer title and a Gold Medal at the college's annual awards.
Systematic, Considered, Impactful
I began with a thorough audit of existing college materials — identifying inconsistencies in typography, colour usage, and layout styles. From this, I developed a core visual identity system: a defined colour palette, typography pairing, and a set of reusable design templates for key formats.
For print deliverables, I worked directly with the printing team, specifying CMYK colour values, bleed margins, and material recommendations — leveraging my 4+ years of printing industry experience to ensure every asset looked as good in physical form as on screen.
Digital assets were built with social media dimensions in mind, ensuring the identity translated clearly across Instagram, WhatsApp, and notice boards alike — maintaining brand consistency at every touchpoint.
